FAMILY CONCERTS AFFECTED BY SATURDAY ROAD CLOSURES
Street closures for Rodeo parade cause reschedule
Morning concerts now planned for 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sat, Feb 27
Upon discovering the full impact of downtown road closures scheduled for February 27, Symphony administration made the decision today to change concert times to avoid traffic and parking difficulties associated with the 2010 Downtown Rodeo Parade and Rodeo Run.

“According to the road closures that we discovered last week, it would have been impossible for concert goers to park and gain easy access to Jones Hall at our original times,” said Steve Brosvik, general manager for the Houston Symphony. “It’s an unfortunate situation this year. The Rodeo and the Symphony co-exist well and have even hosted collaborative events together. Typically, we have a Family concert that falls adjacent to Rodeo season, so we coordinate our dates well in advance. It’s unfortunate that everyone’s advanced planning still resulted in a direct conflict.”

Any tickets purchased for the Family Concert at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27 will be valid for the 1:30 p.m. performance, and, likewise for the 11:30 a.m. concert, those tickets will be valid for the 3:00 p.m. performance. For more information on ticket exchanges, refunds, or donations, please call the Houston Symphony Customer Service at (713) 224-7575, Monday-Saturday, 10 am-6pm.
