The 2009 Bike Houston Moonlight Bicycle Ramble will be held November 1 at 2:00 am. The 37th Annual Bike Houston Moonlight Bicycle Ramble will have a 20 mi and an 8 mi route. The ride begins and ends outside the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas.

The BikeHouston Moonlight Ramble is more than a family bike ride - it's a rolling party!  We'll have two routes: an 8-mile and a 20-mile. Both routes start at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. This two-hour recreational bicycle ride is for cyclists of all abilities, offering two courses to cover all skill levels.

The Houston Moonlight Bicycle Ramble was established in 1972. For some people this is the only 20 miles they ride each year. For others it will be just another great time. Over 2000 riders participated in the 2007 moonlight ramble, riding with friends a refreshing change to the Houston heat and humidity, the best time in absolutely beautiful cool fall weather. It is a real treat to ride Memorial Parkway and Allen Parkway with so may bicycles.

The BikeHouston Moonlight Ramble is the principle fundraiser for BikeHouston, and our ability to fulfill our mission and goals each year is highly dependent on the financial success of the Ramble.  BikeHouston is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe cycling and a better quality of life in our region.

Our programs in past years have included "share the road" advertising campaigns, helmet donations for disadvantaged kids, and rallying cyclists to promote bikeways, bikes-on-buses, bayou trails, bicyclists representations in planning studies, etc.
