The 57th Annual Theta Charity Antiques Show presents over 50 of the most notable antiques dealers from the United States and Europe. As one of the top antiques shows in the country, the Theta Charity Antiques Show will feature more than 50 premiere dealers from around the world at Ages of Elegance, the 57th Annual Theta Charity Antiques Show.

The Theta Charity Antiques Show is now a five-day event run completely by volunteers. It includes four days of public exhibits and educational seminars, preceded by an underwriters’ reception and preview show. More than 70 committee chairs and 200 volunteers from within the organization and beyond contribute their time and talents each year to making the Antiques Show a success.

Having attained national prominence and with a reputation for spectacular loaned exhibits of museum quality antiques from throughout the United States, fascinating educational sessions with acclaimed experts and more than 50 leading dealers every year from around the world, the Theta Charity Antiques Show is a staggering undertaking. It takes five full days to set up and transform the huge George R. Brown Convention Center exhibit space into an elegant setting for often priceless antiques.

Exhibitors will be selling the finest in antiques from the 17th through 20th centuries. In its 57th year, the Theta Charity Antiques Show is considered one of the top three antique shows in the country and the highest caliber show in the South. The Antiques Show funds are obtained solely through the sale of tickets, underwriting and advertising sales. The Theta Charity Antiques Show receives no monies from the sale of antiques displayed at the Show. Since its inception, the Theta Charity Antiques Show has donated over 5.7 million dollars to educational, cultural arts, medical research, and community endeavors in the Houston area. Donations, ticket sales, and advertising revenue from every year's show are provided to several selected beneficiaries. Thursday's Forum Speaker
Linda Sherbert, features Editor of Veranda Magazine, will speak on EASY ELEGANCE AT VERANDA.

Linda Sherbert, features Editor of Veranda Magazine, brings a wealth of knowledge to share with us. At her magazine she assigns design stories to writers around the world and edits articles about houses, designers, architecture, books, art exhibitions, cuisine, and other topics. Linda has interviewed designers Vicente Wolf (July-August edition), Charlotte Moss, actress and architecture activist Diane Keaton, and former Tiffany & Company’s John Loring, to name a few. She frequently writes the magazine’s “Last Word” feature, found on the back page of each issue. Occasionally she goes outside the United States for stories, as she did for the feature on Villa Taverna, the historic home of the U.S. Ambassador in Rome, Italy.

Linda is an award-winning writer and editor with a journalism degree from the University of Florida (where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta!), and a master of fine arts degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

Through glorious photographs and interesting stories Linda will explain Veranda’s showcase of home and garden design, glamorous flower arrangements, and a sneak peek into the future. She will share with us her philosophy that “we need homes that inspire us and help us recharge our batteries.”

    Friday's Forum Speaker
Lori Williams, Product Manager, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation will speak on CHRISTMAS AT WILLIAMSBURG.

Lori Williams is a product manager for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, joining the licensing team in 1999. Using inspiration from the Foundation’s extensive collections, gardens, and holiday decorations, she works with licensed manufacturers in the textile, gift, and home furnishings industries to bring WILLIAMSBURG products and their historical stories into homes across the country.

One of Lori’s favorite things about Colonial Williamsburg is the holiday season and decorating style. Each year, from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day, the Historic Area comes alive with blazing cressets, candle-lit windows, and amazing fruit-and-foliage displays. Families from around the world come to Williamsburg to experience the rich holiday traditions and exquisite decorations. Christmas in Williamsburg is a unique experience, and with it comes an approach to holiday decorating that embraces clean, natural, and elegant style.

Lori holds an undergraduate degree and MBA from Washington State University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma. Prior to joining The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, she worked 10 years in business development and fundraising for her alma mater. Lori is an avid quilter and enjoys kayaking, biking, choir and travel. She and her husband Glenn live on the shores of Powhatan Creek behind Jamestown Island.
