    Wordsmyth Theater Company, in collaboration with Actor's Gym, presents the 2009 American Playwriting Reading Series featuring a reading of Into the Clear Blue Sky, an exciting new play by Berkeley, California playwright J.C. Lee on Monday, November 9 at 7 pm.

    Into the Clear Blue Sky is the final installment of Wordsmyth's three-part American Playwrights Reading Series, which included Sam Haven's Curve in September and Bernardo Cubria's Down, Boy in October. Christopher Sanderson, Artistic Director of New York's Gorilla Repertory Theater will direct the reading. After the reading, Dr. Robert Shimko will lead a talkback with the playwright, director and cast. Admission is free.

    Synopsis: Kale and Mika live in post-apocalyptic New Jersey. As the universe implodes around them, Mika is desperate to solve the mystery of her blackened hands. Their journey takes them to the wild ocean, the moon and beyond as they unravel a past too painful to relive.

    Playwright J.C. Lee is the Founding Artistic Director of the Omicron Theatre Project and the winner of multiple awards for his essays, plays and poetry. Director Christopher Sanderson is Founding Artistic Director of New York's Gorilla Repertory Theater Company, which has produced more than 70 productions in its 18 years, most directed by Mr. Sanderson.

    FREE PERFORMANCE PARKING for Stages ticket-holders is available in the Houston Center for the Arts parking lot on the south side of the building on D'Amico Street. During the day parking in this lot is $2 per car. This lot is owned by the City of Houston and managed by Republic Parking, and is the only official designated parking for Stages Repertory Theatre.

    Please note the parking lot on Rosine Street directly across from the main entrance to the theater is privately owned and is in no way affiliated with Stages, the Houston Center for the Arts, or the City of Houston.
