RealFilms presents the Houston premiere of Maybe Baby, a documentary that examines the emotional and physiological journeys of four unmarried women in their '30s and '40s who put motherhood ahead of finding “Mr. Right.” Filmmaker Shannon O'Rourke will be in attendance. Saturday, November 14th, 2009. Location: Houston Community College/Spring Branch Campus- Performing Arts Center Theatre, 1010 W. Sam Houston Pkwy N. Houston, TX 77043,  (northeast corner of I 10/Beltway 8 cloverleaf).

Synopsis:
Maybe Baby a documentary that takes a new look at the emotional and physiological journeys of women in their '30s and '40s as they pursue pregnancy through the world of Assisted Reproductive Technology, a multi-billion dollar industry on the cutting edge of medicine and science. Against a backdrop of ticking biological clocks, Maybe Baby illuminates basic human questions of life, love, fertility and the meaning of motherhood today.

About the Director:
Since graduating from UC-Berkeley with High Honors, Shannon has worked in non-fiction television for the past 15 years as a writer-producer-director for networks including CBS, A&E, Discovery, TLC, Lifetime, and Court-TV. Her documentary debut, In the Name of Love, about Russian mail-order brides, won best documentary awards at several festivals before being acquired by the Discovery Times Channel and international broadcasters. It was edited by Yana Gorskaya (Spellbound,) and Executive Produced by Sydney Pollack. She is working on a third film, 7 Minutes, about sex workers in California.
