Talento Bilingüe de Houston (TBH) presents the award winning comedy of Doña Rosita's Jalapeño Kitchen written by Rodrigo Duarte-Clark featuring nationally acclaimed solo performer Ruby Nelda Perez  (pictured), January 22nd-23rd, 2010 at 8:00 pm. This popular comedy will be performed at Talento Bilingüe de Houston’s 240 seat theater.

In this production, Doña Rosita invites the audience for the “Last Supper” in the barrio of Salsipuedes (Get out if you can!) while she contemplates selling her restaurant/home of 23 years to make way for a brand new tourist shopping mall. A generous serving of one flavorful character after another will leave your spirit nourished, yet hungry for more of Ruby Nelda Perez.

Ruby Nelda Perez has been touring professionally throughout the USA, Mexico, and Latin America for over 35 years. Her performances include prisons and labor camps to universities and colleges as well as the beautiful Lincoln Center, Smithsonian Institute, Whitney Museum in New York and many more. Ms. Perez has also worked closely with Author Sandra Cisneros in the collaboration of the interpretation of several Latina poems that were presented by Ms. Perez in her production of “A Woman’s Work.” Ms. Perez has been honored with many awards including the Award of Excellence medal while performing at the John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center. As a founder and a former Artistic/Project Director of Talento Bilingüe de Houston, we are much honored to have Ms. Ruby Nelda Perez present her artistic excellence on our TBH stage.

Currently Ms. Perez is working on a new one-person show titled “El Fin Del Mundo Motel” that will premiere in 2010.
