OHBA, a committee of Urban Harvest, presents the OHBA November 18th Meeting:  Making Houston a Sustainable City, Wednesday November 18th 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm, The United Way Building 50 Waugh Drive Houston, TX 77007. Co-Sponsored by ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) Houston/Gulf Coast Section.

Our area supports nearly 6 million people, thousands of businesses and a vibrant ecosystem more diverse than most other places. So what we all do to preserve and improve the land matters a lot. And we need to make right choices if the future will be better for us and everyone else.

November’s OHBA/ASLA speakers are two of the nation’s most thoughtful and experienced visionaries about where we are headed, what the risks and challenges are, and what we need to do as individuals and citizens to make things both sustainable and better. This seminar is all about looking at ‘The Big Picture’ and how all the issues fit together and impact out lives. Our city is changing and it is critical for us to understand how, what the ‘New Economy’ is going to look like. Our two speakers are excellent lecturers who thoroughly understand this vast subject

First up, after a delicious Organic dinner is Mr. David Crossley, (pictured) president of Houston Tomorrow (www.houstontomorrow.org). Houston Tomorrow helps both policy makers and the general public to envision and plan to improve the quality of life, economy and ecology. He has a startling knowledge of what other cities across the globe have done that works and what doesn’t work.

David will tell us about Sustainability, Prosperity, Survival: A New Paradigm for Houston’s Future.

After David’s 45 minute presentation will be Mr. Jim Blackburn, Jr. Jim is a professor in the practice of environmental law at Rice University and the Shell Center for Sustainable Development. He is also considered one of America’s leading environmental attorneys and has been recognized on a national level for his humanitarian works.

Jim’s 45 minute presentation ‘Making Houston Sustainable’ will be thrilling as well. Houston is shaping up to be a global premier Green City. There are so many talented men & women in Houston working very hard to make this happen.

Come and enjoy a great evening with two most excellent visionaries and learn for you and your business can participate.

    Hope to see you there!!!!!!.
