The Czech Center Museum Houston presents Prague’s Jitka Frankova who returns for a concert event! CCMH welcomes the return of Jitka Frankova with renowned Czech composers,  music of Dvorak, Smetana, Janacek in Brno Gallery. Monday, December 14, 2009 - 6:30 p.m. Reception follows.

Jitka Frankova began studying piano at age four in the music school of Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic. At age eight she won her first international competition. After Conservatory in Ceske Budejovice, she moved to study with Professor Walter Groppenberger at the University of Graz, Austria where she received a Masters Degree in Teaching, 2000 and Masters Degree in Concert Performance, 2001. Arriving in Houston, Texas she earned her Masters Degree in Music, 2003 at Rice University and her Doctorate of Music Education, 2008 at Rice University Shepherd School of Music in Houston, Texas. Jitka has performed as soloist and in concert with national and international symphony orchestras in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland, Croatia, and the United States.

Jitka Frankova, a brilliant young pianist from Prague, will delight us with music from masters including Czech composers Dvorak, Smetana, Janacek and Martinu. Frankova has an international career with multiple performances in various countries, symphonies, orchestras and solo concerts.
