    The Artist Writes:
I am a practicing printmaker and painter. In these endless fields of research, the path of creative practice always leads me towards new experiences and experimentation. It is like a hallway in which after the opened door you find another closed door, you move towards it, open it but there is another door and so on. There is no way back, something urges you to go forward in search of your perfect oeuvre d’art.

I strongly believe that art should not be boring, neither should it be just fun. It is a medium that helps you to make contact with yourself and to communicate with other people.

Iconography of my art production is based on the memory of popular culture. In recent prints and paintings I have reduced the color palette to black and gold. Art production includes Painting and prints made in traditional techniques in etching and aquatint, woodcut, silkscreen and also digital prints with implementation of photo material. Sketches and drawings are essential for developing the ideas. In painting, I use the printmaker’s experience and skills: stenciling letters and shapes, transfer, silkscreen in order to bond the print and painting output.

The UH-Clear Lake Art Gallery is located in Atrium I, first floor of the Bayou Building and the Art Exhibition area is located just outside of the university library on the second floor of the Bayou Building. Admission is free for all exhibits. Click here for more information about art exhibits at UHCL.

Also on view April 12 through July 6 are works by Xénia Hoffmeisterová and Carlos Torralba.
