The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) presents the exhibition Ruptures and Continuities: Photography Made after 1960 from the MFAH Collection, On view Sunday, February 21 - Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Audrey Jones Beck Building.
As part of the FotoFest 2010 Biennial, this exhibition examines, on a global scope, the course of post-1960 photography. Nearly 200 images selected from the acclaimed MFAH photography collection explore new directions and approaches in photographic media that emerged in response to artistic movements such as Conceptualism and performance art.
Many of the works are shown for the first time at the MFAH, including The New Industrial Parks near Irvine, California, Lewis Baltz´s 1974 series of 51 photographs.
