    The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents an HMNS Special Lecture entitled Pharaonic Magic in Ancient Egypt, Tuesday, March 2, 6:30 p.m. Speaker:  Jacco Dieleman, Ph.D., (pictured) UCLA.

    Take a closer look at the nature and significance of heka-focused rituals in ancient Egyptian thought, and review a variety of rituals and ritual objects to better understand how ancient Egyptians dealt with disease and other critical situations in life. Dr. Dieleman teaches Egyptian religion, literature and philology at UCLA

    Co-Sponsored by Rice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies.

    Parking is available in our 6-story garage located on Caroline, just south of Hermann Drive. Parking is just $5 for museum patrons and $7 for all others. In addition, some curbside parking is available near the Museum entrance and in Hermann Park.
