ANNOUNCING – A Special Remembrance Tribute to honor Eddie Cope. The Theatre Community is invited to attend a special event to remember and honor Master Stage Playwright Eddie Cope (pictured), who died on November 30, 2009 at the age of 96. Time: Monday evening, January 18th, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Venue: Main Street Theater - Chelsea Market 4617 Montrose Blvd. Houston, Texas 77006.

The evening will include thoughts from Eddie’s relatives, friends, co-authors and fellow theatre professionals. Additionally, there will be a live performance of Eddie’s short comedy, BINGO. Refreshments will be served. All of the many friends, fellow-playwrights, actors and directors who knew and worked with Eddie (who published over 30 plays and had countless more produced) are welcome to join us for what will surely be a meaningful and memorable tribute to one of the true legends of theatre in Texas.

Parking:

Parking at Chelsea Market is easy. There is a large parking lot behind the center. Should that be full, a pass through halfway up on the right will take you to an additional surface lot as well as street parking on Chelsea. The entrance to the parking lot can be found on the north side of the building next to the O'Rourke's Steak House.

Though parking at Chelsea Market is easy, getting there may be a challenge with the construction involved with the Soutwest Freeway Project. MST recommends that you allow plenty of time for detours and unexpected delays, as there is no late seating once the show starts.

Arriving early and planning on lunch or an afternoon treat at a Montrose eatery may solve the traffic blues.
