Join more than 60,000 runners and health enthusiasts at the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute EXPO during race weekend. Open to the public, this free, two-day running, sports and fitness EXPO features more than 100 exhibitors, free product samples, the newest designs and trends in running gear and shoes, health seminars, Q&A sessions with industry experts, the latest developments in sports, fitness and nutrition, entertainment, and much more! The Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine EXPO at the 2010 Chevron Houston Marathon will be held Jan. 15-16 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.

Pick up your last-minute race essentials and get answers to your marathon questions before race day. And don’t forget to visit the Official Event Merchandise booth to check out the wide selection of stylish souvenirs and running gear to commemorate your Houston running experience!

The institute combines the medical specialties of sports medicine, human performance and orthopedics for research and treatment. Some of the services include orthopedic surgery, sports performance and enhancement research, training and conditioning, education, rehabilitation and therapy, nutritional counseling and sports psychology.

Parking:

The George R. Brown now offers even more parking space with a new parking garage located at the corner of Polk Street and Avenida de las Americas. Conveniently connected to the GRBCC and the Hilton by Level 2 skywalks, parking couldnâ€™t be easier.

In addition, there are several privately owned surface lots surrounding the convention center. All are just a short walk away or across the street.
