Houston Press presents the 2nd Annual Houston Press Artopia.

Join us on Saturday, January 30th, from 8pm – 11pm at Winterstreet Studios (2101 Winter St) as we celebrate Houston’s best artists, musicians, fashion designers, culinary masters and cocktail creators. Enjoy complimentary food, wine, cocktail and beer sampling. Entertainment includes three musical performances, three fashion shows, and live performance art.

This year’s event will feature live musical performances by Runaway Sun, Benjamin Wesley and Ryan Scroggins and the Trenchtown Texans. Three fashion shows will be held featuring Billy Reid, Material Girls, Affection Boutique, Satori and Page Parkes. Over 30 local artists will show visual art ranging in style from graffiti to abstract to pop. Performing art presentations will include Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company and Cuadro La Tempestad Flamenco. Sampling restaurants will include Last Concert Café, Calliope’s Po-Boy, Nelore Churrascuria, RA Sushi Bar and Restaurant, Tasti D-Lite, Cork Soakers, Phoenicia Specialty Foods and Catalina Coffee.

Don’t miss the special presentation of the 2nd annual MasterMind Awards Ceremony. Houston Press is pleased to present $6,000 in grants at the second annual MasterMind Awards ceremony. These awards are an acknowledgment of the area’s artists, innovators and entrepreneurs who change our creative and cultural landscape. The night of the event, three aesthetic adventurers will be awarded a grant of $2,000. Nominees are pioneers in fields including but not limited to – visual arts, performance arts, film/video/media, literary arts and fashion/design.
