Discovery Green presents Gala on the Green, Saturday, February 27 7 p.m. on the Jones Lawn. Join us for the biennial Gala on the Green presented by HEB and chaired by Carolyn and Matt Khourie & Bobbie and John Nau.
Less than two years ago, Discovery Green introduced Houstonians to the magic of the new downtown park. Today, the park is a village green and a window into the diversity of talents and traditions that enrich life in Houston. This fundraising event supports the operations of the park and the dynamic free programming offered by the Discovery Green Conservancy.
Discovery Green is a 12-acre park created by a public/private partnership between the City of Houston and the non-profit Discovery Green Conservancy. Since the park opened in April 2008, it has welcomed more than 1 million visitors and hosted more than 800 public and private events. The Discovery Green Conservancy works with hundreds of programming seasons each year which are FREE and open to the public. Events are funded by monies raised at Gala on the Green in addition to sponsorships and contributions.
