Houston Metropolitan Dance Company presents Still Confronting the Ground, an evening in honor of growing up and what it takes to get there.  Performances Run January 21st- 24th at  Barnevelder Movement/ Arts Complex.  Thursday - Saturday 7:30pm and Sunday 6:00pm.

Choreographer jhon r. stronks picks up where he left off in last spring's "Not Yet Soaring". This further development of his work with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company finds them delving into the phenomenon of growing up through a process he refers to as "Confronting the Ground" in an evening that blends the magic and splash of concert dance with the emotional vulnerability of performance art. Still Confronting the Ground is a dance theater work that chronicles the journey of the broken hearted through disillusionment to a happiness that is serious about its sustainability, a happiness that comes form sharing rather than hiding the pain of heart healing.
