Houston Swing Dance Society presents the Great Southwest Lindyfest 2010, March 11-14th!
Lindyfest is an amazing swing dance/lindy hop weekend workshop jammed packed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot dance performances and four endless nights of dancing. Lindyfest brings in over 400 dancers from all across the globe to learn lindy hop from the masters and experience the excitement of Lindy Hop, all here in Houston.
Highlights include culture sessions from living legends, inspiring sessions with the legendary Dawn Hampton of vaudeville fame; and intense, yet fun, dance instruction from internationally renowned Lindy Hoppers! Lindyfest is putting on a swinging show with TWO NIGHTS of live music from the fantastic Jonathan Stout and His Campus Five, featuring Hilary Alexander (Los Angeles, Ca). Both evenings will have a different special lindy hop performances. Individual tickets for the Friday and Saturday evening entertainment will be available at the door. General audience attendance is welcomed!
At Lindyfest we offer classes in Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston and more swing era dances. A Beginner's Crash Course is also taught for those interested in learning the basics of Swing and Lindy Hop. All ages welcome!
