Houston's monthly outdoor fine arts event is back Saturday, February 6 at 548 W. 19th Street at Lawrence. This month, the First Saturday Art Market is a Valentine's Art Market!

The artists are sure to entice patrons with all manner of heart themed paintings, fine handcrafted jewelry and Valentines ammo to pull the heartstrings of lovers. From original paintings, photography, metal and wood sculptors, jewelry that is made and designed by the artists are all handmade from silver, glass, stone, fine gems to clay and even paper.  Potters and ceramicists are on hand, original handmade stationary and bags made out of upcycled and repurposed materials.

It wouldn't be the Heights without a little eclectic. The market also features some of the tastiest treats from area farmers market favorites.  Pecan Pie in a jar, olive oil tastings like fine wine, Concha's Salsa and the latest to hit the streets in an all aluminum RV- What's Up Cupcake!  Featuring delicious treats alone or by the dozen with hard to forget names like Straw Berry Berry Good and Organic Chocolate Truffle that just melts in your mouth.

Entertaining this month will be David Fahl & Folk for Fahl's farewell performance as he hits the road to Nashville.  Carrie Ann Buchanan, the singer that music reviewers from Houston to Austin raved returns from Wimberly and will bring to the stage her former band mates from The Apocolyptics.

Hard to believe that this little fine arts market has made it for so long. Next month on March 6, the artists will celebrate six years in business.

Be sure to check the market website for updates and special performance announcements.
