Discovery Green presents SPRING BREAK SPECIAL - Target presents Houston Grand Opera at Discovery Green.
Storybook Opera:
Tuesday, March 16, 12 – 1 pm and Thursday, March 18, 12 – 1 pm
An HGO artist reads aloud a musical story, engaging in the audience with musical excerpts and questions.
In English at 12 noon and in Spanish at 12:30 pm.

Cinderella in Spain/ Cenicienta en España, 10 – 11 am Glass slippers, pumpkins and magical transformations… don’t miss the allergy-prone fairy godmother and an unusual pair of evil stepsisters! In English and Spanish. Composer: Mary Carol Warwick Libretto: Kate Pogue
Opera To Go: A Way Home, 12 – 1pm - HGO’s 40th World Premiere, created in conjunction with Song of Houston’s Mexico 2010. Mexico 2010 includes the world premiere of a new work for middle and high school students, available for performances in schools and community centers beginning March 15, 2010. Composed by Ethan Frederick Greene with a libretto by Irene Keliher, this 45-minute opera tells the story of a teenaged Gracie and her father, who travel from Houston to Mexico to scatter her mother's ashes. The spirit of Gracie's mother helps guide them on their epic journey. In English and Spanish.
