The Jewish Community Center of Houston presents In Celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day):  The Four Faces: A One Man Show, Sunday, Apr 18 • 3:00 p.m.

Explore the many sides of Israel with a one-man show with actor and educator Rabbi Benjamin (Benji) Levene (pictured). The Four Faces of Israel is a thought provoking portrayal of four stereotypical Jewish personalities, which raises key questions regarding Jewish identity, tolerance of differences, and relations to world Jewry.

The audience will experience a series of interviews with four exaggerated personalities found in Israeli society, all played by Rabbi Levene. They are a black robed Meah Shearim rabbi, an Israeli bus driver, a cosmopolitan Jewish artist living in Safed and a wealthy American tourist who gives millions to Israel but prefers Jewish life in America.

At the end of the show Rabbi Levene discards his costumes and engages audience members in lively and moving discussion.

Rabbi Benjamin Levene is Senior Vice President of Gesher and the grandson of Rabbi Aryeh Levin, zt"l, known as the Tzaddik of Jerusalem for his legendary love and tolerance of all Jews. Gesher (Hebrew for bridge) is an educational organization committed to strengthening the fabric of Israeli society through the appreciation of our shared Jewish heritage and common destiny.
