Country Playhouse presents the 2010 New Play Reading Series - Country Playhouse's 18th season of New Plays by Houstonians. Concert readings of selected pieces will take place Sunday nights at 7 pm, March 7 - April 11, 2010.

Country Playhouse's New Play Reading Series is comprised of six Sunday nights of concert readings of new plays written by Houston-area residents. The readings are rehearsed, and the public is invited. Since 1993, more than 100 new works have been presented in the Series. Of these plays, we know that at least 44 have gone forward with a production, publication, or recognition in a competition.

* MARCH 7: John Kaiser's HYPERION

* MARCH 14: Henry Feldman's THE PICKLE JAR

* MARCH 21: Dennis Porsnuk's CURBS
* "The parents of a teenage runaway try a different tactic to lure their Ashley home."

* MARCH 28: Nicholas M. Garelick's RADIANT STAR PALADIN PLEIONE
* "In a grown-up world, June McPherson strives both to save her daughter and to fulfill her own childhood dream of becoming a Magical Girl."

* APRIL 4: Vanessa Del Fabbro's THE ROAD TO HOME
* "Culture clash, tragedy, and the redemptive power of friendship in the fragile new democracy of South Africa."

* APRIL 11: Jeffrey Strausser's THE DECORATOR
* "When Amanda Hartman, interior designer extraordinaire, redecorates your home, she'll change more than the curtains."
