The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents MFAH Gallery Conversations: Ruptures and Continuities, Mar 13, 2010 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM, at the Audrey Jones Beck Building. Presented by Yasufumi Nakamori, Assistant Curator of Photography, MFAH. Meet in the Lobby of the Audrey Jones Beck Building.

Join Yasufumi Nakamori, Assistant Curator of Photography at the MFAH, for a gallery talk on the exhibition, Ruptures and Continuities: Photography Made after 1960 from the MFAH Collection. As part of the FotoFest 2010 Biennial, this exhibition examines the dynamic course of post-1960 photography. Highlighting select works out of the 200 that comprise the exhibition, Nakamori will discuss the exhibition´s major themes, particularly, those of "ruptures"—new directions and approaches in photographic media created in response to the artistic movements, such as Conceptualism and performance-based art—and of "continuities," or further developments of conceptual ways of seeing within the photographic community.

Gallery Conversations are open to the public and free with general museum admission. Museum members always receive free admission. Campstools and audio guide headsets will also be provided.
