    Miller Outdoor Theatre and HGOco present  the world premiere performances of Opera to Go: A Way Home,  Monday-Thursday, May 3-6, at 11am.

    A 3,000 mile journey begins following a magical transformation. How does a butterfly find the home it has never seen, but that its ancestors have inhabited for thousands of years? Presented as part of Song of Houston and in conjunction with the anniversaries of Mexican Independence and Revolution in 2010.

    Composed by Ethan Frederick Greene with a libretto by Irene Keliher, this 45-minute opera tells the story of a teenaged Gracie and her father, who travel from Houston to Mexico to scatter her mother's ashes. The spirit of Gracie's mother helps guide them on their epic journey.
