AIDS Walk Houston is an exciting, non-competitive walk event that helps increase community awareness and educate Houstonians about HIV/AIDS. A portion of proceeds from AIDS Walk Houston will be distributed to local HIV/AIDS service organizations that are dedicated to helping improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by the disease.

Houston-based Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO), a long-time partner of AIDS Foundation Houston (AFH) in the fight against HIV/AIDS, has made a three-year commitment of $140,000 to be the title sponsor of AIDS Walk Houston through 2012.

McCann. “Marathon?s partnership goes beyond simply writing a check; their employees have jumped on board and dedicated themselves to helping make AIDS Walk Houston the most successful it can possibly be.”

AIDS Walk Houston is the largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser of its kind in Texas. Funds raised will help AFH, and several other HIV/AIDS service organizations, provide housing, testing, food, medical care, prevention education, counseling, pediatric programs and job training to thousands of Houstonians living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.
