    DiverseWorks and Aurora Picture Show are pleased to partner on Flickerlounge, a season-long cinematic experience in the newly refurbished Project Gallery at Diverseworks. In coordination with the visual arts exhibitions, Aurora will present an eclectic lineup of rotating full-length films, shorts and video presentations to accompany the Main Gallery. April 30, 2010 - June 5, 2010, Short Films by Dara Greenwald.

    In coordination with Keep it Slick: Infiltrating Capitalism with The Yes Men exhibit in the main gallery, Flickerlounge will showcase works from Dara Greenwald. Titles include Strategic Cyber Defense: For Top Military Officials, a commentary on US Dept of Defense and the "international enemy"; Pink Bloque Document, a documentation of a feminist street dance troupe in post-911 America; and United Victorian Workers, a documention of Christmas shopping. Known for her political performances and videos, Dara is a media artist who uses humor to make social statement.

    Dara Greenwald is a media artist and researcher. Dara has participated in collaborative cultural production for many years including the Pink Bloque, Ladyfest Midwest Chicago, Version Fest, Pilot TV, United Victorian Workers, Spectres of Liberty and other groupings that resist being named. She recently co-curated (with Josh MacPhee) a large-scale research project about the history of social movements entitled Signs of Change: Social Movement Cultures 1960s to Now. Her experimental videos have screened widely on the festival and media arts circuit (including at Liverpool Biennial, Cinematexas, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Eyebeam, etc).
