Psophonia Dance Company stretches the dollar in their upcoming production, Squeeze A Little Harder, May 14-15, 2010 at 8pm & 10pm at Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex. It is everybody's story rolled into a saucy little burlesque. The art of seduction is finely honed, enticing consumers to buy no matter the cost. If it feels good do it; get it; buy it. Don't just look - touch and take. Fill your life with stuff and more stuff!

In the mood and style of a vaudeville show, Squeeze A Little Harder lures the audience into the land of consumer illusion, led by charming show girls and faceless store mannequins. When smoke and mirrors disappear, reality hits the buyer brutally. Squeeze A Little Harder invites the audience to lean in and take a closer look.

This revamp of the original Squeeze focuses on our entangled and provocative relationship with money. How did America become this consuming machine? With an economy struggling back from the worst recession since the 1930's, what lessons can be learned? How can we change our direction as a country and culture?

So why not sink into your seat and enjoy a slightly disturbing but highly seductive world where the sky is the limit (if you have credit) and nothing is guaranteed?

The gritty performers include Stephanie Beall, Annie Longley, Jonnesha Hawkins-Minter, Jessica Prachyl and Tapley Whaley. Music compiled and composed by Jeremy DiMatteo.
