Take advantage of Rienzi’s later hours with Twilight Tours, which take place Thursdays May 20 and 27, from 5 to 8 p.m., offering extended hours for adult visitors to explore Rienzi’s house and gardens at their own pace.

Pink azaleas and large white magnolia blossoms are typically in full bloom at this time of year. There are ten distinct gardens on Rienzi’s property for guests to enjoy: The Woods-with-Ferns Garden, Lady Gandes Garden, Crane Garden, Mrs. Turner’s Fountain, White Garden, Camellia Garden, Folly Garden, and Pool Gardens.

Guests can see Rienzi’s beautiful gardens and fountains, designed by Texas landscape architect Ralph Ellis Gunn, bathed in the diffused light of the setting sun. Both the historic home and grounds will be open for self-guided Twilight Tours from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 20 and 27.

With extended hours, people who work during the day now have the chance to enjoy Rienzi during the week, and they are encouraged to drop by after work. Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be offered.

The image of Rienzi's house and pool is courtesy of the MFAH.
