The Level One Band got together in Houston, TX in 1998. Soaking in the style of vintage Aretha Franklin, Motown, Disco, and Old School Funk, the band developed a following that has kept them in constant demand with Houston's hottest venues as well as the private parties and festivals across the country.
The original concept of Level One was to build an ensemble composed of not only quality musicians but also of members who would be able to lead a song vocally as well. This practice has allowed us to develop a show in which each member gets the opportunity to shine.
The band was first formulated in 91' in Mississippi by Reginald Wheatley as a variety session band. The band then utilized a number of the Malaco and Ace Recording artist including Dorothy Moore, Johnny Taylor, Bobby Rush, and Pat Brown. Regianld then relocated to Houston, TX, where he continued the band's legacy with top local artists. The Level One Band is currently recognized as one of Houston's premiere party bands. The Level One Band's incredible stage presence and electrifying chrisma will work the crowd into a frenzy with their energizing renditions of classic R&B, Motown, Pop, and Disco dance hits.
Level One's job is to make the people feel good and get the party going. When they leave a gig they know they played a big part in giving the people a great time---that's what it's all about--knowing they're doing their job well and making a difference. It's a gteat feeling and what they skive for every time.
Make sure to stick around during intermission when we have a different "Let Freedom Sing" contest winner sing the National Anthem each week, "Eco-tips for Daily Living" and HEB's Health Tips of the week!
