Talento Bilingüe de Houston presents José Rubén De León in Simplemente Lara — a 60-minute musical performance.  This musical production will run for 2 days, May 21st and May 22th. Each performance begins at 8PM.

Talento Bilingüe de Houston (TBH) closes its season with elegance and nostalgia as acclaimed San Antonio vocalist and actor José Rubén De León, alongside bassist George Prado and pianist Aaron Ellington Prado, interpret the heartfelt and nostalgic ballads of Agustín Lara: Mexico’s celebrated composer of the 1930’s and 40’s.

Simplemente Lara was previously performed at TBH in 2007 and thrilled Houston audiences...it's a must see and will surely sell out!

José Rubén De León Since 1992, actor-playwright-musician has created and performed one-man sacred dramas –SIMPLEMENTE LARA, a tribute to the life and music of Mexican composer Agustín Lara, premiered at Jump-Start Performance Co. in San Antonio, Texas and was named one of the best shows of 2005 (SA Express-News). In May 2007, he received a Heritage Award by the Webb County Heritage Foundation for "outstanding work in preserving the musical heritage of the region as evidenced in SIMPLEMENTE LARA."

De León began his theatrical career in his hometown, Laredo, Texas. He served as Artistic Administrator and Director for the Laredo Little Theatre. De León is a theatre arts graduate from the University of the Incarnate Word and makes his home in San Antonio where he remains active in writing, performing and recording. He is currently a campus minister and liturgy coordinator at Our Lady of the Lake University.

This show is in English, however some Spanish is used.
