    APAHA 2010 Festival: One World, Many Cultures

    The Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association(APAHA) will be holding its finale APAHA 2010 Festival on May 22nd celebrating Asian/Pacific American Heritage month. This event has been made free by gracious sponsors and we invite you to join us for the festivities.

    The Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association(APAHA) will be holding its finale APAHA 2010 Festival on May 22nd celebrating Asian/Pacific American Heritage month. This event has been made free by gracious sponsors and we invite you to join us for the festivities.

    In addition to all day performances, food vendors, non-profit organizations, and an exciting children’s area will be provided for attendees to visit, speak with, and enjoy at the spectacular festival. We look forward to seeing you there!

    The May finale APAHA Festival celebrates the theme One World, Many Cultures.

    In addition to the main event area - the ANHEUSER-BUSCH STAGE, and the FONDREN FOUNDATION PERFORMANCE SPACE, food vendors, non-profit organizations, and an exciting children's area will be provided for attendees to visit, speak with, and enjoy at our spectacular festival.

    2010 Festival Performance Headliners:

    1:30pm Opening ceremony: Amazing acrobatic stunts and visually stunning costumes and movement, the Soaring Phoenix Lion Dragon Dance Association is considered one of the top three lion/dragon dance associations in Houston.

    2pm Afternoon Headliner: Chinese cultural dances developed through thousands of years of practice and refinement, The National Taiwan University of Arts Da- Giam Dance Troupe consisting of 15 performers will dazzle with their performance and native dresses.

    7pm Evening Dinner Headliner: Hailing from Hawaii ,an exhibition of Pacific Islander culture and music will be showcased by the Makaha Sons (www.makahasons.com ). 7pm.

    Many local performers will be showcasing their talent including Thai Kick Boxing, The Pakistani Brass Band, Tae Kwon Do, Indian dancers from Anjali Dance Company, Indonesian Dances courtesy of the Indonesian consulate, Pacific Islander dance and musical performances.
