The Fab 40 performs Beach Boys Alive: Pet Sounds at Discovery Green, Saturday, June 26 at 8pm.

Houston musicians, The FAB-40, will hold a free concert, playing music from the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album, widely ranked as one of the most influential pop records ever released and the inspiration for The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper album.  This fun event for the whole family will be at Discovery Green on June 26th from 8-9:30PM. Admission is free but Discovery is asking concertgoers to donate items from the CAP (Citizens for Animal Protection) Wish List.

Join CAP and Discovery Green for the sensational summer sounds of the Beach Boys and help Houston's homeless animals Citizens for Animal Protection will have a booth at the event with activities for kids and adults and to collect donations.

The FAB-40 is a  loose collective of local rock, classical and ethnic musicians who band together to recreate note for note renditions of Classic Rock albums of the 60s. Primarily led by Dave Blassingame, Steve Candelari, Ryan Guidry, Jon Townsend, Steve Callahan, Alison Zollars Arthur, Stephen Arthur, Vanessa Vera, Becky Blassingame, David Courtney and Ryan Ferrugia, they are supplemented by an array of local Houston musicians depending on the requirements of the shows.

All shows are usually done in conjunction with raising awareness for local charities such as the Musicians Benevolent Society and The Houston Food Bank, in a spirit of camaraderie to bring some of the greatest Rock albums to life in concert settings.
