The Jung Center of Houston presents Mythic Wisdom for Everyday Life: Psyche's Tasks.   Encounter the rich and timeless Greek myth of Psyche in this workshop with therapist Anne Strain.

Explore Psyche's tasks and the wisdom they offer for our lives. In the myth of Psyche and Amor, Psyche is confronted with four tasks: sorting seeds, gathering Golden Fleece, dipping into the springs that feed the river Styx, and retrieving a beauty potion from the goddess of the underworld.

In this workshop, we will discuss how we recognize and respond to contemporary versions of these tasks. Clips from The Devil Wears Prada will be used as examples. We will review the myriad interpretations of Psyche's tasks that have been advanced—and then use our own experiences, both personal and collective, to discover the ways in which Psyche's tasks continue to impart meaning and encourage our conscious participation in life.

Anne Strain, LCSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice and a candidate-in-training to become a Jungian analyst in the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts.
