The Lone Star Lyric Theater Festival 2010 presents Radio Opera Hour, rotating two works in rotating repertory, June 24 through June 27.

This season Lone Star Lyric Theater focuses on the "Golden Age of Radio," presenting two unique, 1940s-style 'Radio Opera Hour' programs via fictional radio station HRBC. Original comic sketches complete with onstage sound effects, guest singers, and specially-composed commercials accompany each evening's pièce de résistance, a riveting one-act opera.

Thursday and Saturday will feature the premiere of Michael Remson's gripping Sorry, Wrong Number, based on the play by Lucille Fletcher.  "All alone in the house...she overhears plans for a murder...Can she stop it before it's too late?"  Stage Director - Kelli Estes; Music Director - Jeremy M. Wood.  Cast includes Kelli Estes, Alison Campagna, Rachael Ross, Kerry Jennings, Oliver Worthington, Kathy Villalobos, and a special mystery guest as The Man in Black.

Friday and Sunday will feature Gian Carlo Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, a bitingly humorous tale of gullibility, wavering morals and repressed libidos. "The devil couldn't do what a woman can, make a thief out of an honest man!" wails the hapless drifter caught in a tangled web of desperate female conniving.  Commissioned and premiered by NBC in 1939, this is one of the first operas composed specifically for performance on the radio.  Stage Director - Kelli Estes; Music Director - Jeremy M. Wood.  Cast includes Nancy Markeloff, Danica Dawn Johnston, Amanda Kingston and Oliver Worthington.

Each night's event features Radio Opera Hour by Paul L Johnson, Kelli Estes. Featuring performances (24th & 26th) Amanda Kingston - Amanda (ROH Singer), Danica Dawn Johnston - Danica (ROH Singer), Nancy Markeloff - Nancy (ROH Singer), Jeffery S. Lane - Dick (Foley Actor), Mark Laskowski - Richard (Foley Actor), Jordan Gonsalves - Hughie (Stage Hand Kid, ROH Singer), Kathy Villalobos - Stage Manager (literally), TBA - Announcer, and by (25th & 27th) by:  Rachael Ross - Rachael (ROH Singer),   Alison Campagna - Alison (ROH Singer), Kerry Jennings - Kerry (ROH Singer), Jeffery S.
