True, the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows is the perfect, fun family event of the summer. But its real purpose is to educate the public about responsible dog ownership. Meet the Breed starts the process by helping wanna-be dog owners choose the best dog for them. Even if you’re an experienced dog owner, you can further your knowledge at hundreds of presentations, seminars and booths, then relax with a little retail therapy at the McScotty Market or browse the Mari Jon Filla Student Art Exhibit or the Designer Doghouse Competition & Silent Auction, benefiting Citizens for Animal Protection.

After that, take in the world’s most beautiful dogs in the Conformation rings, or catch all the action at the Performance Events and Exhibitions. The ticket price gets you into every event, and admission for kids 12 and younger with an adult is only $1. Attend, enjoy and learn. Your dog will love you even more for it – if that’s possible!

Visit one of the finest indoor dog shows in America held in Houston's Reliant Center. Along with breed judging and obedience, you'll discover agility dogs racing over obstacle courses, flyball teams hurdling to beat the clock, and four-footed athletes catching Frisbees and dancing to music. Then take in the Mari Jon Filla Student Art Exhibit and buy dog goodies galore.

Join us for practical clinics on dog health, grooming and training or attend a Meet the Breed seminar to find the perfect pet for you. The entire family can come and watch more than 150 dog breeds compete for "Best in Show," enjoy events in agility, obedience and flyball, as well as displays from hundreds of companies and artisans offering pet food and accessories at Reliant Center.

The dog show also enhances the knowledge of pure breed dogs by offering Meet the Breed seminars where the public can get hands-on experience with more than 80 breeds. Breed judging of more than 150 breeds occur each day, along with performance events Friday through Sunday that include canine frisbee, canine musical freestyle, a student art exhibit and more.

Begun in 1977 and running for four days in July, the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows takes place in Houston’s state-of-the-art Reliant Center. It is a cluster show, meaning it is actually four separate, consecutive dog shows.

The show’s mission is to enhance the public’s knowledge about purebred dogs. We offer the popular Meet the Breed seminars where the public can get hands-on experience with more than 80 breeds and discuss their advantages and disadvantages with knowledgeable breeders.

Besides Breed Judging on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we offer many exciting performance events including Agility, Obedience and Flyball as well as Vendor Booths and displays from hundreds of companies and artisans offering pet food and accessories.

Additionally, Canine Frisbee(SM), Canine Musical Freestyle and the Mari Jon Filla Student Art Exhibit are popular attractions. Many dog welfare and service organizations present information about their services, responsible dog ownership and proper pet care and nutrition in general.

Formerly known as the Astro World Series of Dog Shows, the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club and supervised by Onofrio Dog Shows. Across its four-day span, the show attracts more than 40,000 spectators and participants and 14,000 entries.
