Discovery Green presents a performance by the Summer Jazz Workshop All-Stars, Friday, July 9 at 12 noon.

Absolutely Astonishing Houston, If you close your eyes and hear the absolutely astonishing sounds of the teenage students in the 39th Annual H-E-B Summer Jazz Workshop you wouldn’t know that they were children. Playing a variety of styles, from Duke Ellington to originals written by staff and students, the listener will be blown away at the talent level and won’t believe such wonderful sounds could come from these kids.

The young musicians are part of Jazz Education Inc.’s annual 5-week training camp, held at Texas Southern University and Christi McAuliffe Middle School. Houstonians are encouraged to come hear these future “stars of tomorrow” at Discovery Green Park June 25 and July 9, 2010.
