Hope Stone Dance Company presents Lemonade Stand, a sweet taste of some ole’ time favorites and a three week summer festival full of dance, lemonade and special guests. When life gives you lemons….make art! Performing Aug. 12, 13, 14, Aug. 19, 20, 21, and Aug. 26, 27, 28 at Barnevelder Movement/Arts Complex.
This three-week festival incorporates pieces from years past into a lovely and lively, tart and sweet evening of dance. The festival features the Hope Stone dancers, alongside guests artists such as Kelly Myernick; Conner Walsh; Melody Herrera; and Armstrong/Bergeron Dance Company. In addition, repertory work by guest company iMEE (infinite Movement Ever Evolving) from Santa Barbara, CA will wrap up the final week of the festival.
The six Hope Stone Dance evenings will be a slightly different recipe each night, with a mix of Hope Stone Dance's classic repertory, with sections from past shows including The Cooking Show (2002), 's~A Tale of Possession (2004) and SEE Me (2008), coming to life on stage. Myernick will restage her moving solo from the 2008 SEE Me show; Walsh and Herrera will join forces for Deux Tango from 1998 in their own style and aplomb. Also joining Hope Stone Dance the second week is Armstrong/Bergeron Dance Company in Weiner's commissioned piece fishdeersheep.
In addition to dynamic dancing, the three-week Lemonade Stand festival will feature a unique lemonade stand serving plenty of lemonade!
The festival is the first of four exciting productions under the direction of Artistic Director Jane Weiner that make up Hope Stone's first-ever full season. The 2010 - 2011 lineup includes - Lemonade Stand, Village of Waltz, An Evening of Bread and Circus and the annual Kid's Play premiere performance ONE. Season passes are available for $65, which will provide one ticket to each of the four shows.
