    Cotton Pickin' Good Time

    The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department presents a Cotton Pickin' Good Time, at the Barrington Living History Farm Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site.

    The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department presents a Cotton Pickin' Good Time, at the Barrington Living History Farm Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site.

    Barrington Living History Farm celebrates the beginning of cotton season with a "Cotton Pickin' Good Time." Join in the fun of the first cotton harvest of the season through picking, ginning, carding and spinning the cotton. Try your hand at the loom and learn more about the needlework of the 1850s, and learn how to dye your own fabric, too.

    The fun starts Saturday, August 7 - Sunday August 8 at the Barrington Living History Farm, the home of Anson Jones, the last president of the Republic of Texas. Hours are 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., with admission fees of $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children under six are admitted free. State Park pass holders are also admitted free.
