Pranic Movement/Dance and Yoga Workshop
August 28-August 29, 2010
FrenetiCore presents a Pranic Movement/Dance and Yoga Workshop, August 28-29, 2010. Location: Frenetic Theater, 5102 Navigation Blvd. Houston TX 77011. In conjunction with the Houston Fringe Festival at Frenetic Theater.
About the Workshop:
Join Paul Smith, (pictured) creator of Pranic Movement, in a dance/meditative movement & yoga workshop for both dancers and non-dancers alike. Pranic Movement combines movement, meditation, and repetitions of the Tibetan Five Rite yoga exercises. Learn short easy movement meditations, how to use breath as a centering technique and as a vital tool for shaping and enhancing quality of movement, and develop a taste of ultimate freedom of movement.
Paul Smith has performed at the Judson Church and taught dancers and non-dancers in Houston and Austin while performing on the National Performance Network. He has studied and performed with many inspiring teachers and performers including Deborah Hay, Indian classical dance from Ratna Kumar, and Butoh with Caroline Sutton Clarke along with Stella Brice. Paul has studied and practiced a variety of forms of meditation since 1980 and have been initiated into several tantric traditions and find dance/performance to be the ultimate yoga/ meditation.
As the Siva Sutra states, “The Self is the dancer, and the senses are the spectators.”
