Every Friday and Saturday night at 11:55pm, it's another Midnight Movie Classic at the Landmark River Oaks Theatre.

    Friday-Saturday, September 17-18:   THX-1138

Robert Duvall stars as the hero behind the number, an anonymous worker in an antiseptic, highly-policed and repressive society of the future who breaks free of the state-required stupor of drugs, learns love's liberating power and seeks out a brave new world.

Writer/director George Lucas' first feature film was adapted from a prize-winning short he made as a student at USC. Using stark visuals and unique sound effects, Lucas showed the inventiveness he would later bring to American Graffiti and his Star Wars and Indiana Jones epics. Donald Pleasence co-stars.
