Houston's comedy scene has created a monster! The Darewolves sink their teeth into the Midtown Arts Center on Friday, August 20th at 7pm and 10pm, with a hair-raising live sketch show that is equal parts Sid Caesar and Sid Vicious.

Led by the diabolical duo of co-producers Timmy Wood and Brian Nichols, the cast of The Darewolves boasts a dynamic assortment of comedians from every corner of the Bayou City. These sketch comedy monsters have toured throughout Texas, Ohio, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles and are eager to perform in their hometown where they cultivated and formed their talent, not to be discovered, but out of genuine love for the art form.

The concept behind Darewolves is to make great comedy by stripping the art of sketch down to its very basic fundamentals. Darewolves rejects the idea that an elaborate set and an exorbitant budget are needed to make people laugh. So prepare yourself for strong points of views about the world we live in that will take you back to shows like Monty Python's Flying Circus, The State, The Upright Citizens Brigade, Mr. Show, and the early years of Saturday Night Live that remain so enduringly funny.

The two shows will be filmed in front of a live audience. “In this age of Youtube, camera phones, and Web 2.0 applications, we want to bring back a quality that we greatly missed in comedy: live audience” says Timmy Wood. The audience will be immersed in all aspects of a live studio with camera, crew, lights, but certainly no applause sign or laugh track. “We are not looking to create the viral video of the week, but rather to generate a body of work that we as comedians can be proud of for the rest of our lives,” adds Brian Nichols.

The evening will also feature the much loved and raved about local DJ Paisley Pilgrim, who will host the entire evening mixing up tunes and keeping the rock & roll and soul vibes flowing.
