The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents a Special Lecture: Wondrous Facets of the Himalayan Terrain, Sunday, Aug 29, 2010, 5:00 PM at the Audrey Jones Beck Building. Presented by His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri. This program is generously co-sponsored by the Self Enquiry Life Fellowship. Location:  American General Conference Room, 5601 Main Street at Binz. A reception follows the program.

Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri is a monk of the Vedânta tradition which was formalized into monastic branches around 500 BCE. He trained under the tutelage of Himalayan masters who stem from two distinct regions of the Himalayan Mountains (pictured) and is connected with esoteric lineages of the Himalayan yoga traditions that have been in continuous practice since Vedic antiquity. The name Vidyadhishananda means "one who is in the bliss of being absorbed at the source of knowledge."

Swami Vidyadhishananda has lectured around the world, bridging spiritual traditions and sharing the common ground of Vedic heritage. He is frequently hailed as an emissary of peace for lucidly disseminating Sanskritic wisdom for the benefit of modern society. As the spiritual head of the non-profit organization, Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, he is a guiding light to many seekers, www.swamahiman.org.

In this richly illustrated presentation, His Holiness shares some of his experiences of the mystical Himalayas.
