Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens hosts the Fall 2010 Thursday Evening Sip and Stroll.

Each Thursday in October, the historic home and grounds will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. (the last admission is at 7:30pm) to allow visitors a chance to see the gardens in the early evening light, enjoy a stroll through the house with an optional audio tour, and relax with light refreshments afterward. Enjoy Audio Tours of the Bayou Bend Collection & see the gardens at dusk in this rare and special oppurtunity to view Miss Ima Hogg´s historic home at night.

Reservations are not required.

Bayou Bend, located at 1 Westcott Street, is the former residence of the late Houston philanthropist and collector Miss Ima Hogg. One of the nation’s premier holdings of American art and antiques, the collection comprises more than 5,000 works, including furniture, paintings, metals, ceramics, glass, and textiles.

The collection is displayed in more than 20 room settings that trace the evolution of style in America from the colonial period to the mid-19th century.
