Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens hosts the Spring 2011 Thursday Evening Sip and Stroll.

Each Thursday in March (through March 24), the historic home and grounds will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. (the last admission is at 7pm) to allow visitors a chance to see the gardens in the early evening light, enjoy a stroll through the house with an optional audio tour, and relax with light refreshments afterward. Enjoy Audio Tours of the Bayou Bend Collection & see the gardens at dusk in this rare and special oppurtunity to view Miss Ima Hogg´s historic home at night.

Experience the beauty of a fragrant spring evening at Bayou Bend with an after-work taste of one of Houston’s cultural treasures. Invite a friend and discover Ima Hogg's historic1920s estate. Explore its world-class collection of American art and antiques, or stroll through the 14-acre garden oasis. Before or after your stroll, visit the Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor and Education Center, where the Shop at Bayou Bend and the Hogg Family Legacy Room will be open from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Reservations are not required. Admission is $10 and includes refreshments. Purchase admission tickets at Kilroy Center.

Bayou Bend, located at 1 Westcott Street, is the former residence of the late Houston philanthropist and collector Miss Ima Hogg. One of the nation’s premier holdings of American art and antiques, the collection comprises more than 5,000 works, including furniture, paintings, metals, ceramics, glass, and textiles.

The collection is displayed in more than 20 room settings that trace the evolution of style in America from the colonial period to the mid-19th century.
