Sunday, May 22, 2011:  With These Hands - Great American Crafts

Today many items are manufactured completely by machines, but early Americans depended on their hands to create a multitude of necessities, from baskets to nails. Learn how these items were made through hands-on demonstrations and performances. Watch a woodworker in action or a blacksmith ply his trade.

Tours of the first floor of the house are hosted by volunteers of the Houston Junior Woman’s Club, while giveaways and promotions are offered through media sponsor, KUHF 88.7 FM and Bayou Bend
