Buchanan Gallery presents Shadow and Bayou Reflection - Sunset Bridge, a solo exhibition featuring beautiful new paintings by C. Ellen Hart. The exhibition opening takes place Saturday, August 28, 6pm-9pm, in conjunction with this month's ArtWalk. We'll be celebrating the opening with Dixie Beer, so please join us for what promises to be a wonderful evening!

In this new series, Ellen continues her intriguing exploration of the ubiquitous patterns of shadow and light, and several of her new works are on a very impressive monumental scale! The exhibition will continue through Oct. 2.

Artist Statement:  My paintings investigate the ubiquitous patterns of light, shadow and reflection that we all experience daily, but that we rarely stop to notice. The works reflect a perceptual duality: a tangible, distinct moment and place when the source pattern is found, intertwined with the fleeting and ephemeral nature of time. As light and atmospheric conditions shift, my source patterns morph, move and change.

I am challenged to capture this relationship between the perceived and the barely sensed: the concrete world influenced by the inevitable transformation of time and spirit.

New work by Danna Ruth Harvey
Also in the Main Gallery, we'll be exhibiting several new paintings by Danna Ruth Harvey, with her one-of-a-kind combination of oil, wax and cloth.

And In the Viewing Room "Cielo en Llama" by Tony Saladino
In the Viewing Room, we'll be showing recent work by Tony Saladino, whose recent debut exhibition at Buchanan Gallery garnered very positive response!

Also in the Viewing Room will be new sculptures by Damon Thomas. More new work in the gallery includes encaustic "3D paintings" by Gwen Plunkett.
