The Menil Collection presents History of the Slave Trade and Visual Culture in Cameroon and Nigeria, Kairn A. Klieman and Kristina Van Dyke, Wednesday, December 1, 2010, 7:00 p.m.
This program concludes the collaborative Menil/UH Art History class designed to gauge the effects of the Atlantic Slave Trade in the visual culture of Nigeria and Cameroon, among them: masks, sculptures, religious rituals, architecture.
Kristina Van Dyke is Curator for Collections and Research at The Menil Collection. Kairn A. Klieman is associate professor of African History at the University of Houston.
