This is the only World-Cup Skateboard Contest and Live Music event in TEXAS! It is also the only World-Cup Event, which raises funds for Cancer Research in the Nation. Come out and see the World’s best men and women skaters compete and raise funds for Johnny Kicks Cancer. Amazing Bowl Riders and Live Local Music…Art in motion!

Texas Monthly Produced an amazing video about Johnny’s life and the Johnny Kicks Cancer Foundation: http://www.texasmonthly.com/multimedia.

Featuring live music by DJ Ceeplus Bad Knives, Golden Axe, and Honky, plus Houston’s The TONTONS.  2010 Rock the Cradle music line-up is going to take our Cradle fans on an insane ride…the Cradle will truly ROCK for Johnny Kicks Cancer … Houston’s Golden AXE will be in the house and Grindline’s shot-crete will be shaking like no time since Jamail Park was poured. Austin’s legendary Rockers, HONKY will provide a soundtrack for the skaters and music fans, which is going to leave everyone wanting more…Dirty White Boy Rock n Roll!

Suggested Donation $10 and/or Blood donation.  100% of admission proceeds will go to the JohnnyKicksCancer Foundation. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center coach will be available to take blood donations and bone marrow donor registration for those who wish to donate blood in lieu of admission fees.

Johnny was only 10 years old when he passed away after a three year battle with leukemia. Johnny became the youngest pro skater at age 7 with his own official line of skateboards, t-shirts, shoes and wheels.  He donated the proceeds of his pro-am skateboard to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He was also an active member of the Gulf Coast area skating community and a TV advocate for blood donation.  His three-year battle with leukemia came to an end September 23, 2008, but his courageous spirit lives on in his friends and fellow skaters.

So put October 23rd on your calendar and come out to the Jamail Skatepark for a day of incredible skating!
