Cypress Creek FACE presents Soul Street: Taking it to the Streets, 10 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010.

They fly through the air with the greatest of ease! They dance en pointe while semi-crouched in high-top sneakers!

Catch the excitement of Street Dance as these energetic performers demonstrate their varied styles and discuss the distinctive features and origins of each dance. From Brazil’s Capoiera to New York’s Break Dance and the multi-component form of hip-hop, audience members learn how these styles developed and evolved.

Find out what happens when today’s diverse dance styles meet classical music by 17th century composer Antonio Vivaldi!

Soul Street Dance Company takes off on the concert stage with a unique combination of entertainment and art. Attracting highly diverse audiences, they appeal to the young and old, male and female, sophisticated and unsophisticated, and all ethnicity's and cultures. Standing ovations have become the norm. Audience's leave the theater delighted!

Soul Session Dance Concert features a variety of dance styles and selections including a mix of hip-hop, classical and new dance styles with urban-fashioned costumes, and comic delivery. These high-energy selections are fun and exciting. There is no other group like Soul Street- youthful, masculine, risk-taking.... new and different, uniquely Soul Street.

All children’s concerts are FREE and no tickets will be distributed.
