The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents a Cultural Feast Dinner - Eat, Drink, and Plunder! A Pirate Feast,  Sunday, October 31, 7 p.m. Hosted aboard the Elissa docked at Galveston Island.

Pirate-themed cuisine, tales of eating and drinking during the Golden Age of Piracy, and the berthed tall ship Elissa combine to create a unique Cultural Feast. In addition to learning how pirates provisioned their ships and what they ate and drank on board, we will explore the historical and archaeological evidence for many new, more appetizing, theories associated with pirates from a culinary perspective. Pirates influenced the evolution of the rum trade in the Caribbean, operated food production centers, and often selected their sea routes for plundering based on season and the availability of food.

Participants will meet at Elissa at Pier 21 on Galveston Island. A map and directions will be sent prior to the dinner. The Texas Seaport Museum will also be open for participants to tour this evening. Advance ticket purchases is required.

As if Halloween isn't reason enough to dress up as a pirate, here’s another.
