Earth Science Experience
October 12-October 17, 2010
IT’S LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE, DUDE! Children's Museum of Houston looks into Earth’s scientific wonders during the Earth Science Experience October 12—17.
Become a master geologist for a day by joining us in the Earth Science Experience at the Children's Museum of Houston. Geology is the study of the landscape of our planet and how it has been formed over time. This is your chance to look at some fascinating rocks, learn how to find places on a map, and see everything else that makes our planet’s surface unique.
On-Going Activities:
Road to Fossilization: Follow the Road to Fossilization and discover more about how fossils (pictured) form at Junktion.
Places on the Planet: Swing by Junktion and use longitude and latitude lines to find different places on the map.
Investigating Rock: Identify rocks and sort them out by their texture, shape, color or grains at Junktion.
Our Natural Resources: Science Station is diving into alternative energies. Come explore some of the world’s natural resources and learn how we can use them in the future.
